Which sections should a CV include?
Start with your name and the role you are applying for. Add a working phone number and a professional email address. After a short professional summary, present your work experience, education, relevant skills and languages. Include a portfolio link if it helps demonstrate your work. Sensitive details such as your identity document number and exact home address are not needed to complete a CV template.
How do you fill in the template?
First review all the example headings. Replace the name, contact details, employers and dates with your own information. List your most recent role first. For each job, add a few sentences describing your actual work rather than just a list of responsibilities. Use figures only for results you can explain. Delete sections and example text that do not apply to you.
Should you choose PDF or Word?
Use the format requested in the job advert. Word is convenient for editing the text and sections. PDF helps preserve the layout. Before sending a PDF, check that its text can be selected and copied, Azerbaijani characters display correctly and no part of the page is cut off. Do not send your CV only as an image or screenshot.
What should you include if you have no work experience?
Focus on your education, internships, volunteering and completed projects. Explain what you did in each project and which tools you used. Do not just list a course: give an example that demonstrates a skill you learned. Do not present a role you have never held as work experience.
Final checks before sending
Compare your CV with the job requirements. Check that relevant skills are easy to find and your phone number and email address are correct. Give the file a clear name such as Name-Surname-CV.pdf. Open it on your phone and, if possible, a computer. Confirm that you have replaced every instruction in the example with your own details.
