Health and Safety and Civil Defense Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• To monitor compliance with the requirements of legislation, normative legal acts, and internal procedures for occupational health and safety and technical safety;
• To prepare preventive measures for the prevention of work accidents, incidents, and occupational diseases and to monitor their implementation;
• To organize occupational health and safety and initial safety briefings for employees, and to maintain relevant registration documents;
• To monitor the correct use of personal protective equipment and compliance with safety requirements in the workplace;
• To monitor the safety situation in the structural divisions of the enterprise, and to prepare proposals for the elimination of identified non-conformities;
• To participate in the preparation and implementation of civil defense measures, relevant plans, and emergency preparedness measures;
• To participate in the organization of awareness and practical training on rules of conduct during fire, accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies;
• To support the preparation and maintenance of the relevance of evacuation plans, warning, and operational notification measures;
• To participate in monitoring the condition of protective equipment, first aid kits, and other relevant equipment used during emergencies;
• To prepare reports, acts, logs, and other documents on occupational health and safety and civil defense, and to register them in the prescribed manner;
• To ensure coordination with relevant state bodies and structural divisions of the enterprise in relevant areas.

Candidate Requirements:

• Higher education in occupational health and safety, technical safety, civil defense, engineering, or related fields;
• At least 2 years of work experience in the relevant field (work experience in state institutions is preferred);
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System;
• Additional training and certificates in occupational health and safety or civil defense are preferred;
• Knowledge of normative legal acts regulating occupational health and safety, labor safety, fire safety, and civil defense in the Republic of Azerbaijan;
• Knowledge of identifying, assessing professional risks, and preparing risk mitigation measures;
• Ability to prepare safety instructions, relevant plans, acts, and reports;
• Knowledge of organizing emergency preparedness, evacuation measures, and safety drills;
• Ability to work with MS Office programs, especially Word and Excel;
• Analytical thinking, responsibility, attentiveness, and operational decision-making skills;
• Ability to work in a team, communicate, and effectively coordinate with colleagues.

Work schedule:

• 5-day work week
• Working hours from 09:00 to 18:00
