Emissions Data Analyst / MRV Reporting Specialist

EKOL is looking for an Emissions Data Analyst / MRV Reporting Specialist to join our team!

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in GHG emissions data management, emissions reporting, or Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) activities;
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Python or Power BI;
• Understanding of OGMP 2.0 reporting templates, the GHG Protocol, and emissions verification evidence requirements;
• Experience in processing, validating, and managing emissions measurement data, including Optical Gas Imaging (OGI), handheld measurement, and high-flow data;
• Ability to prepare structured datasets, reporting packages, and technical documentation in accordance with applicable reporting requirements;
• Fluency in English and Azerbaijani;
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with a focus on data accuracy, traceability, version control, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and administer the emissions database, measurement records, and reporting dashboards;
• Process OGI video, handheld measurement, and high-flow data using appropriate quantification software and apply quality assurance (QA) rules;
• Validate emissions datasets, perform quality checks, and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and traceability;
• Convert validated datasets into OGMP 2.0 reporting templates and prepare interpretive reports in collaboration with the Senior Specialist;
• Prepare MRV-format data packages to support EU importer requests and future reporting obligations under applicable Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Climate Law requirements;
• Develop and automate recurring QA checks and reporting workflows using Excel, Python, Power BI, or other relevant tools;
• Maintain version-controlled records, supporting documentation, and verification evidence to ensure audit readiness;
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and reporting issues, and coordinate with relevant technical teams to resolve them;
• Support the development and continuous improvement of emissions data management, reporting, and verification processes.
