Group Financial Controller (Baku)

Location: Baku

Reports to: CFO

Work Arrangements: Office-Based

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for Management and IFRS;
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting;
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior year results;
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making;
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting;
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy;
  • Advise senior management and the board on financial strategy, performance, and opportunities;
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts, and strategies to stakeholders including executives, board members, and shareholders;
  • Prepare presentations and financial reports for board meetings.

What we want you to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred;
  • Minimum 5 year experience in relevant role;
  • Good written and verbal communications skills (Azerbaijan, English and Russian);
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling;
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Expertise in budgeting processes, cost control methodologies, and financial planning;
  • Track record in developing and managing budgets, monitoring performance against budget targets, and implementing cost-saving initiatives;
  • Proficiency in utilizing financial systems to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and facilitate financial reporting and analysis;
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills;
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Analytical skills with detail orientation.
