Head of Financial Control/Deputy CFO

Reports to: CFO

Essential functions:

• Collaborating with an executive team in establishing more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company’s ledger; 
• Creating and monitoring company policies and internal controls, especially spending controls, to safeguard company assets and reduce fraud;
• Providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategizing;
• Supervise follow-up of new accounting and auditing pronouncements that may affect the Company’s financial statements and their preparation;
• Identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business;
• Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations;
• Working closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings;
• Mentoring and managing the accounting and financial staff;
• Monitoring and balancing cash flows into and out of a business to meet obligations and optimize investment;
• Preparation and update of long-term business plan as per requests of management;
• Communicate conclusions to CFO on analysis of business cases provided by Commercial functions- assess reasonableness of conclusions made;
• Monitor the monthly financial operations and statements within the companies operating in Construction, Development, Production, Transportation & Logistics, HoReCa business lines.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
• Bachelor or Master qualifications (Accountancy or Finance, Economics, MBA);
• External Audit experience is preferable;
• 3-5 years’ of budgeting, financial reporting, financial controlling work experience;
• ACCA is an advantage;
• An analytical mind;
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships;
• Commercial and business awareness;
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal;
• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data;
• Ability to stick to time constraints.
