Environment Specialist

Workplace: Goygol district

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: 5 days a week, not exceeding 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week

Main Job Responsibilities:

Implementation of Environmental Protection Policies and Procedures:

• Participate in the development of action plans for the correct daily implementation of environmental protection procedures in accordance with relevant legislation and internal regulations, execute these actions, and prepare reports;
• Within the scope of authority, participate in overseeing the compliance with requirements and standards regulating harmful physical impacts on the environment;
• Participate in identifying and assessing environmental aspects relevant to the enterprise's operations, contribute to the development of management programs for significant environmental aspects, propose measures for environmental improvement, and monitor their implementation.
• Audits and Inspections: Participate in field audits and inspections, collect information during checks, record identified issues, and document the results.
• Non-conformance Management: Provide corrective proposals for identified non-conformities, prepare directives, track implementation status, and report results to management.
• Training and Instruction: Support the organization of initial, refresher, and unscheduled training sessions.
• Incident Investigation: Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents, conduct initial data collection, and ensure the preparation of final reports.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Within the scope of authority, participate in conducting environmental monitoring to prevent pollution resulting from project activities and in preparing reports on the results. Provide proposals to relevant parties in case of deviations;
• Participate in the development of environmental standards and other technical documents related to environmental protection;
• Within the scope of authority, participate in overseeing the compliance with requirements and standards regulating harmful physical impacts on the environment;
• Participate in reporting and managing waste generated by the enterprise's operations.
• Emergency Preparedness: Participate in the implementation of emergency response measures.
• Communication and Awareness: Support awareness activities regarding environmental protection requirements among employees and contractors.

Participation in Contractor Oversight:

• Oversee the organization of work by contractors and suppliers based on environmental protection requirements;
• Ensure that responsible persons from contracting companies are familiarized with significant environmental aspects and relevant internal regulations within the project scope.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Fluent in Azerbaijani; knowledge of Russian and English is desirable;
• Proficiency in MS Office applications;
• Knowledge of Azerbaijani legislation and other normative documents in the field of environmental protection;
• Knowledge of applied international environmental protection standards and a strong understanding of best industry practices are desirable.

Required Education:

• Higher education in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Ecology, or Engineering fields

Required Work Experience:

• 2 years of experience in environmental protection
