Expert Data Platform Engineer

Job responsibilities:

• Designing and developing our state-of-the-art on-prem, hybrid and cloud data infrastructure,
• Managing and optimizing data infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code principles. Implementing monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of the data platform.
• Monitoring, performance tuning and architectural optimization of data platform components and data storage engines (RDBMS, NoSQL DBs, file and object stores, computational components)
• Implementing data security best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant corporate (SOCAR) and state regulations.
• Implementing access controls, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Communicate implementations and improvements to internal customers (data engineering, data analysts, data scientists) and set up feedback loops to discuss additional requirements and needs
• Define data platform future development roadmap, upgrade, enhance and evolve functionality of data platform aligned with roadmap plan

Job requirements:

• Bachelor or Master degree in IT with preferably at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Work experience with infrastructure automation, using scripting, ansible, terraform
• Using Git and version control.
• Practical knowledge with various coding/scripting languages including python and bash.
• Experience in Data Lake and Big Data Analytics platforms including Apache Hadoop, cloud base solutions
• Expertise on database administration of RDBMS including Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA
• Expertise on database administration of NoSQL DBs including Cassandra, MongoDB, HBASE
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline management, and expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Expertise in performance tuning in Unix and Linux environments
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, docker) and virtualization
• Experience with public cloud platforms – MS Azure, AWS or GCP
• To be a creative thinker and like to design out of the box solutions to solve a number of problems
• Results, customer and quality oriented person with excellent communication skills
