Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible primarily for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay, as well as internal policy and procedures regarding pay and benefits.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely for designated group of employees.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets.
  • Ensure that employee payroll processing is in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Track and deduct all garnishments, cash advances and other special payroll deductions.
  • Be responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, BFHR, finance and timekeepers to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g., labour work hours, overtime, leave balances, head count etc.).
  • Prepare Annual salary reference letters upon employees’ requests.
  • Prepare data for reports to relevant departments about payroll, company HR budget and expense.
  • Assist in payroll and timesheet audit activities.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of combined report (SSPF,PIT, unemployment and  compulsory medical insurance); 
  • Apply to SSPF for Social, Maternity and Sick leave Allowances.
  • Act as a contact person between Life Saving Insurance and Life Saving Plan providers and employees
  • Maintain and ensure all internal procedures are in line with legislation.
  • Ensure Business trip payments are managed in line with legislation & internal policies
  • Support annual payroll budgeting process.

Essential Criteria:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field such as labor relations.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ proven work experience in Payroll Position
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and software. SAP is a plus. 
  • The ability to research, analyze, and make logical decisions within a given timeframe.
  • Solid understanding of labour legislation and payroll process
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English and Azerbaijani 
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
