Senior Material Planning Specialist

Ensures that the supply of materials meet the production and maintenance schedule, and minimum / maximum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity, delivers efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements, maintains strong relationships both internally within Supply Chain and externally with all affected stakeholders to ensure supply of materials meets requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree and / or qualification in Business Administration or related field (alternatively minimum 10 year experience in the same field) 
  • Evidence of trainings and certifications in related field 
  • Minimum 10 year experience, preferably in Oil & Gas Sector;
  • Strong working experience of SAP ERP (MM Module, PM Module, MRP) 
  • Fluent Azerbaijani and English language skills 
  • IT literacy, strong skills in Excel and the ability to handle electronic data
  • Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, maintenance and strategic order fulfilment 
  • Results orientated and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
  • Preferably driving license

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the annual usage amounts of materials, control stock levels, continuously reduce inventory and stock value 
  • Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production and maintenance requirements as well as  minimum safety stock levels
  • Collaborate with internal (Supply Chain) and external (Maintenance, Process, Operations, etc) stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line and maintenance activities as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule
  • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
  • Utilize applicable Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) and SAP MM Module to ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
  • Control material coding requests in coordination with the Master Data team and technical functions involved in PR creation 
  • Follow all processes relating to materials, from the requirement source through to the material transfer to the usable stock 
  • Reviewing PR’s by checking stock for the requested materials and as applicable suggesting alternative materials
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Minimize illiquid and obsolete stock to ensure minimum liability for business 
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization
  • Perform other duties as required
