Job Title: Environmental Specialist – Renewable Energy

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with expertise in managing environmental and social risks in renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with development banks (ADB, AIIB, EBRD) to ensure that all project components align with international environmental and social standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct and oversee environmental and social assessments, ensuring compliance with ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement (SPS), AIIB’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), and EBRD’s Environmental and Social Policy (ESP).
• Prepare (as needed), review (mandatory) and implement key environmental and social impact studies and reports including:
  • ESAP (Environmental and Social Action Plan)
  • RAP (Resettlement Action Plan)
  • ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment)
  • SCAR (Social Compliance Audit Report)
  • LRP (Livelihood Restoration Plan)
  • ESMP (Environmental and Social Management Plan)
  • CHA (Cultural Heritage Assessment)
• Review project compliance with IFC Performance Standards, especially in areas of community health, safety, and biodiversity conservation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and adherence to standards, including Equator Principles and Global Reporting Initiative guidelines.
• Prepare project documentation, monitor progress, and report on compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Guidelines.
• Engage in climate strategy alignment per the Paris Agreement and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Requirements:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
• Proven experience in environmental and social assessments for infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ADB SPS, AIIB ESF, EBRD ESP, and IFC Performance Standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement, environmental compliance, and project documentation.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) is required to ensure effective communication with international stakeholders and compliance with reporting standards.
