ICSS Specialist
Location: Sumgait
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance on automation systems, advanced
hardware, logic networks and other related equipment in Chemical Plant.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure compliance with the highest environmental and safety standards
• Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s HSE Policy by adhering to the requirements
• Fulfil maintenance tasks and provide technical support for a variety of Integrated Control and Safety System
(ICSS)
• Lead and participate in system troubleshooting and investigations
• Ensure DCS, ESD, PLC, MMS availability/integrity through monitoring and maintaining ICSS performance and
strict adherence to the plant operating procedure
• Implement and modify functional block and ladder diagrams, logics on Control systems resulting from approved
plant changes, projects as directed by the DCS Specialist and I&C Supervisor
• Support DCS Specialist for developing system related updating as built documents
• Access tasks, carry out condition monitoring and ensure accurate history of maintenance and inspection
activities within SAP
• Commissioning duties in testing of loops and functions, participation in FAT and SAT, attendance in system
start-up
• Contribute to ensure no overdue PM jobs
• Act as Team Lead for the execution of DCS Turnaround work
• Serve as mentor to junior DCS, instrument maintenance and contractor technicians
• Develop Procedures/Work Instructions/Scopes of work as required
• Ensuring appropriate hazard and risk reviews conducted for assigned DCS related projects and all issues
identified are actioned
• Act as DCS Team Lead for the DCS group in the absence of the DCS Engineer.
• Assist the Instrument Section by developing and carrying out Flawless Maintenance and Turnaround practices
for the Installed DCS Systems
• Continuous improvement of complex availability and reliability and reduction of mean time to repair
• No production loss, plant trip or quality non-conformance as a result of tasks performed
• Other duties requested by Line Manager
ACCOUNTABILITY

• Accountable for provision of required technical information for spare parts procurement
• Accountable for Control System maintenance and on-line troubleshooting
• Responsible for resolving and/or escalating issues that prevent completing scheduled work
• Responsible for planning and executing High Priority work
• Responsible for looking ahead at the upcoming task schedule and ensuring proper resources are available to
complete work as planned
• Responsible for creating a culture of reliability and continuous improvement
• Responsible for building proper relationship with the plant management in order to achieve common goals
TYPICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience of working in Petro-Chemical Industry
• Previous technician experience in filed instrumentation, DCS, ESD, PLC platforms
• Experience working with Third Party vendors and/or contractors
• Experience with maintenance databases and data management
• Reporting and following subordination
• Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling
• Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed
• Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of system alarms and equipment failures is required
• Experience in calibration & troubleshooting field instrumentation devices
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani and English
• Knowledge of Russian is an asset
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Extensive years Control Systems experience in either onshore or offshore facilities of the Petrochemical
Industry.
• DCS (Yokogawa Centum VP), ESD (Yokogawa ProSafe RS), PLC (Siemens Simatic S7), MMS (Bentley
Nevada 3500), Fire and Gas protection systems (Rockwell AB)
• Knowledge of Controller, IOMs and Field Instrument Installation, maintenance execution and testing is also
essential
• Knowledge of HART, Modbus, Profibus, Vnet/IP and other protocols
• Knowledge in scientific principles, different measuring principles, engineering fundamentals and computer
technology
EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
• Monitor and diagnose of field instrumentation and control system
• Loop test and calibration of sensing and final control devices
• Instrumentation test and diagnose via field communicators and AMS
• Revision of control, machine monitoring systems and programmable logic controllers
• General knowledge of fieldbus and system network
• Yokogawa Centum VP / ProSafe RS / PRM, Simatic S7, RSLogix
• Windows OS and Office
• SAP GUI/Fiori
• Good PC skills;
• Experience & knowledge of SAP;
• Good knowledge of MS Office Applications and in-house software;

• Read and understand P&IDs, CS and Network Architecture, Logic and Wiring Diagrams
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to identify contamination issues (people, equipment)
• Ability to work in night shift rotations
