Stock Controller/ Inventory Manager
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
Overview:
The Stock Controller / Inventory Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the warehouse inventory to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and optimal stock levels. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience in warehouse operations (preferably in retail or logistics), and proficiency in data management systems such as 1C and Excel. The Stock Controller will play a key role in inventory planning, stock audits, and warehouse process optimization to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse stock movements and ensure proper storage conditions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and logistics providers for efficient stock handling.
- Maintain compliance with warehouse safety and storage standards.
Data Management & Reporting
- Utilize 1C and Excel to maintain real-time stock records and generate reports.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels.
- Provide regular reports on stock movements, discrepancies, and warehouse efficiency.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Develop and enforce warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance stock accuracy and reduce errors.
- Ensure compliance with financial, accounting, and operational guidelines.
Team Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and finance teams to align stock levels with business needs.
- Train and support warehouse staff on inventory best practices and system usage.
- Communicate effectively in Russian and English with internal teams and external partners.

Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong proficiency in 1C accounting software and advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Data Analysis).
- Strong mathematical skills – Ability to perform accurate calculations, demand forecasting, and data-driven decision-making for inventory optimization.
- Ability to handle and analyze large databases with precision.
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory management best practices.

- The ability to identify and resolve stock discrepancies efficiently.
- Strong decision-making skills based on data analysis and business requirements.

- Excellent planning and time management abilities.
- Capability to oversee warehouse teams and ensure smooth inventory operations.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Russian (required) and English (preferred).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and finance teams.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or stock management.
- Preferably retail or logistics industry experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in 1C accounting software.
- Advanced Excel and database management skills.
- Languages:
- Fluent Russian (Required).
- Good English (Preferred).
Expertise & Specialization
- Strong understanding of inventory forecasting and demand planning.
- Experience in organizing stock audits and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with warehouse automation tools and inventory tracking software.
- Ability to optimize stock levels and minimize storage costs.
