Subcontractor Specialist
As a Subcontractor specialist at Baku Shipyard LLC, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for goods, materials, and services required for shipbuilding and repair projects. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess potential subcontractors based on project requirements, capabilities, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of subcontractor proposals and make recommendations for vendor selection.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with subcontractors to ensure favorable agreements that align with project goals and budget constraints.
- Draft and finalize subcontractor agreements in collaboration with legal and procurement teams.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure they align with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
- Facilitate regular meetings with subcontractors to review progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and evaluate their ability to meet contractual obligations, quality expectations, and safety standards.
- Implement performance metrics and conduct periodic assessments to track subcontractor performance over time.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues or disputes that arise between subcontractors and the main contractor.
- Stay abreast of changes in procurement regulations and industry best practices, proactively adapting procurement processes as needed.
- Provide regular updates on procurement activities, performance metrics, and supply chain developments to key stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, standards, and best practices in the maritime sector.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a focus on achieving project objectives and organizational goals.
