Non-Oil and Gas Business Development Manager (Local Role)

Objectives & Responsibilities:

  • Exceed the annual sales quota to position Company for growth
  • Develop comprehensive market assessment in adjacent sectors and refine existing strategy across Horizon 1 / 2 / 3
  • Drive the implementation of company strategy and delegate tasks that achieve long-term strategic growth
  • Manage Company’s new energy (non-oil and gas) sales pipeline, driving early positioning efforts between sales and operations with target customers
  • Identify and contact key customer decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with Company strategy
  • Drive strategic new business development to grow existing pipeline of opportunities in the Energy Transition market within Azerbaijan
  • Develop comprehensive partnership and pursuit win strategies for strategic pursuits
  • Manage the development of proposals and presentations (internal and external)
  • Interface with Subject Matter Experts (tax, treasury, corporate finance, risk, insurance, legal and internal compliance) to ensure all proposals are within Company’s risk profile
  • Lead the contract and commercial negotiations of major non-oil and gas pursuits with support and oversight of Legal and Regional Director of Sales
  • Continuously identify emerging market trends and customer needs
  • Motivate the team, track performance, and report metrics
  • Provide Business Development guidance to the Company’s existing Senior Management Team
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
  • Provide inputs into annual business forecasts
  • Reports to Regional Business Development Director.

Proven Track Record:

  • The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:
  • Clear technical understanding of the Energy Transition sector with experience in either an engineering or project management function 
  • Previous commercial background demonstrating clear understanding of contract terms and conditions, various commercial models, and leadership roles in commercial proposal development    
  • Previous strategy development experience
  • Previous sales, marketing, and business development (B2B) background with a proven track record of securing Pre-FEED, FEED, PMC and EPCM contracts    
  • Negotiation of large and complex transactions
  • Proven understanding of engineering business and sectors.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • MBA or similar business qualification preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills Successful track record in B2B Sales and Negotiation
  • Experience with CRM software (i.e., Salesforce) or similar preferred Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Fluent in spoken and written Azeri, Russian and English.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Have strong client and partner networks in Azerbaijan market    

Experience:    

  • 5 years‘ of experience in non-oil &gas services
