Construction Site Engineer (Piping)
Role & Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Contractor side piping engineering crew to ensure technical integrity is maintained and the project is in compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring Contractor team members are competent to carry out assigned duties.
- Review and approve work execution Schedules, Method Statement and Procedures from the various project contractors/vendors.

- Review and approve work execution Schedules, Method Statement and Procedures from the various project contractors/vendors.
- Review (but not limited to): Piping Instrumentation Diagrams, philosophies, specifications, hook-up drawings, requisitions, bill of materials (BoM’s) / material take offs (MTO’s), layouts, work packs, detail drawings and etc.
- Review & respond to technical queries internally (e.g.: from Operations, Construction, QHSSE etc.) and externally (e.g.: from contractors/vendors etc.), Design Changes & Technical Deviation Requests etc.
- Review & control scope and schedule changes for the Piping discipline in accordance with the change control process.
- Participate in project HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, SIMOPS and BOW Tie for Hazard
- Identification to provide technical clarifications and support safety studies.
- Participate in engineering & construction assurance reviews as/where applicable.
- Support procurement with technical information (during technical bid evaluations, bid clarifications etc.).
- Review Contractor/Vendor compliance with project/international specifications and standards.
- Provide full life cycle technical guidance to project stakeholders on various aspects of
- Piping Construction across all phases of the programme from (if required) early design up to construction, installation, commissioning and handover to Operations.
- Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes for all Piping scopes.
- Prepare daily progress reports, including listing achievements and highlighting issues as required.
- Interface with contractors, other discipline engineers, departments, project managers etc. (such as Operations, Construction team members, QHSSE, Project Controls,
- Contracts & Procurement, Warehousing and etc.) to ensure that project objectives are met in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance and take initiative for safety and environmental aspects.
- Provide input into project scopes of work including review of man-hour estimates and schedules.
- Review of contractor/vendor Master Document Registers.
- Participate in Risk Reviews and Project Lessons Learned workshops as requested by the Group Lead.
- Ensure all Piping discipline work is executed in accordance with the project quality requirements.
- Ensure that all Piping scopes are constructed, installed and inspected in accordance with all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Piping/Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Construction site and office engineering experience on piping scope in Onshore/Offshore Oil & Gas environment.
- Major Project Greenfield / Brownfield Engineering experience.
- Hands on experience in leading teams of Contractor workforce.
- Proven competency in Piping Engineering, preferably with some international EPC or consultancy experience.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards related to Piping Discipline.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic & multicultural work environment.
- Construction site experience would be beneficial.
- Professional affiliation(s) with international institutions would be favourable.
