Production Chemistry Engineer
1. Production Chemistry Analysis and Optimization:
- Assist in the regular analysis of production chemistry parameters to optimize gas and condensate production.
- Conduct routine monitoring of process parameters and laboratory results.
- Maintain bulk chemical inventories at injection locations and provide accurate forecasting by monitoring the chemical stocks and delivery timelines in collaboration with the logistics team.
- Support the development and implementation of production chemistry strategies for various assets.
2. Chemical Treatment Programs Management:
- Support the implementation and development of chemical management.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of chemical treatment programs and trials.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and resolve production chemistry issues.
3. Vendor Management and Product Selection:
- Facilitate communication with various vendors for selecting, applying, and monitoring the performance of new production chemicals.
- Support the establishment of procedures and requirements for chemical selection.
- Evaluate proposals from suppliers.
- Regularly visit vendor laboratories.
4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Contribute to the regular monitoring and evaluation of chemical and injection system performances through periodic visits to offshore and onshore assets.
- Monitor chemical dosing rates.
- Provide recommendations for adjustments to chemical treatment strategies based on performance feedback.
5. Audits, Reporting, and Documentation:
- Contribute to regular audits of production chemistry programs.
- Prepare and distribute regularly scheduled reporting and other reports as requested.
- Maintain accurate records and documents.
6. Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
- Engage in problem-solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data, and providing recommendations to ensure operations are performing at optimal levels.
- Conduct root cause analysis for deviations in performance metrics and develop corrective action plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering
- 1-2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in production chemistry, chemical/process engineering
- Good understanding of production chemistry principles.
- Good understanding of the oil and gas production systems.
- Familiarity with corrosion, scale, and hydrate control in oil and gas production systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
